The Helios PowerBall is a unique innovation inspired by a long proven technology: the waterwheel. The PowerBall produces clean electricity at low cost from moving water in canals, industrial water loops, rivers, tidal flows and the base of dams.
The patented Helios PowerBall protects the generation components inside, a power cable exits the device through the shaft which allows simple and low cost installation. Individual PowerBalls can be connected into an array, creating HydroFarms, which allows the power output to be scaled up to multi-MW level. The aggregated output is only limited by the water flow.
There is tremendous generation potential from Helios PowerBalls and HydroFarms the world over. Several Gigawatts of power can be generated from existing dams and hundreds of thousands of miles of canals using the Helios PowerBall. For example: from each mile of fast flowing canal more than 5 MW of clean, renewable energy may be generated with HydroFarms.

To meet the needs of the Off-Grid, Grid-Tied, Commercial and Industrial users, Helios is developing a range of PowerBall units from 100w to 4 kW and PowerWheel units from 5 kW to 40 kW. Helios PowerBalls are offered with standard features and design in smaller sizes. Helios PoweWheels can be custom designed for larger and specific projects. Both product features can include auto extraction in case of unusually high water and specific grid interface design.
